Koh Phangan, as is the rest of southeastern Thailand, can certainly be described as a year-round destination. But, for longing travellers who don’t fancy being rained out for an entire week on their much-awaited island getaway, it pays to mug up on the island’s weather patterns, especially as seasons are not as steady as back in the day. The monsoon in Koh Phangan that was stable for the most part isn’t so firm with its months as it used to be and is a lot more volatile (thank you global warming!). However, it should be mentioned that since weather patterns are much more volatile now, unpredictable showers even during the high season are a possibility.

Rain in the rainy season in Koh Phangan is, unfortunately, unpredictability at its peak. If it is your lucky day, a downpour will last for an hour or two in the morning and afford bright azure skies for the rest of the day.
